Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — On March 28, 2025, the halls of the Skylight Hotel in Addis Ababa pulsed with visionary energy as Africa’s emerging changemakers and seasoned thought leaders came together for the African Youth Leadership Development Conference. Representing the United Diplomats of Africa (UDA) on this formidable stage was Amath Ndiaye, UDA’s Head of Partnerships and a global youth diplomat of rising prominence.
This pan-African conference focused on building transformative leadership, sustainable governance, entrepreneurship, digital innovation, and the inclusion of youth in policy-making structures across the continent. With participants ranging from youth-led organizations, development partners, government representatives, and social entrepreneurs, the platform was a pivotal convergence of ambition and direction.
In his address, Amath Ndiaye emphasized the role of diplomacy as a bridge—not only between nations, but between generations, urging that young people no longer be seen merely as "the leaders of tomorrow," but as strategic partners of today.
“Africa must stop preparing the youth for power in the future while denying them seats at the table in the present. We are not a risk to manage—we are a resource to harness.”— Amath Ndiaye, Addis Ababa 2025
His powerful delivery was met with widespread acclaim and positioned UDA as a leading youth diplomatic movement actively shaping conversations on leadership and governance across Africa.
Amath’s presence not only introduced UDA to new regional partners and networks but reinforced the organization's commitment to nurturing diplomatic voices from all corners of the continent.
The United Diplomats of Africa extends deep appreciation to Mr. Ndiaye for his consistent dedication to putting African youth diplomacy on the global map—a mission that continues to take root and bear fruit.
