"Namibia’s announcement to provide free university education from 2026 is a bold step that has lit a fire of hope across the region. As a Southern African youth, I see this not just as a Namibian reform, but as a regional beacon. Too many bright minds are held back by tuition fees. My cousin had to drop out after her second year due to financial constraints—her story is not unique. This policy move must be adopted regionally, but also paired with support systems: accommodation, transport, mental health services. Free education should not mean vulnerable students are left unsupported. We salute Namibia’s vision and encourage others to follow."
